Kayky, the left footed Neymar to make his debut in City’s FA cup tie

City’s Covid outbreak is said to have effected atleast 7 first team players and upto 12 members of City’s coaching staff including Pep Guardiola. Amid this crisis of sorts, few of our academy players are said to be given the nod in the FA cup game. Apart from the usual suspects like Cole Palmer and James Mcatee, Kayky is the name that stands out, given his progression to train with the first team just a year after signing form the Brazilian side Fluminense.

In the recent years, City have gone after the model of Real Madrd, which is extensively scouting young Brazilian players. While Madrid have paid 40 million pounds for signing a pound land Raheem Sterling in Vinicius Jr, City have just paid 8m pounds for Kayky, who many say is the next big thing in Brazilian football.

Kayky stands out for his Intelligence, Technical ability and speed in his actions, specially when taking on a defender one on one. The speed of action is something we have missed after the departure of Leroy Sane. Really, there is only Raheem sterling who has that Burst of pace when taking on a defender. But the finishing of Sterling is not at all good. Kayky is impressive in this aspect, he is known for his powerful finishing. People in Brazil say that Kayky is as ruthless as anybody you will see, when it comes to finishing off a move. Kayky is also well known for his close control, which is very essential when you play on the wing for City. Of course, he is not yet the finished article, he still has to improve upon his decision making and his reading of the game. This is something he will surely become better at with experience and more playing time.

Kayky could easily be our replacement for Mahrez and could be part of the transition of replacing our current first teamers with academy players. The success of Kayky will be an important feather in the cap of City’s scouting network, which is going from strength to strength every year
